These are archival documents from the Baghdadi Jewish community that consist of notices of community meeting agendas and meeting minutes, addressing a variety of issues including school staff, elected community positions, Kosher food, totals of butchered Kosher meat for the meat tax, and budget planning. There is a small booklet titled “Statues for the Jewish Orphans Charitable Organization, 1948.” There are documents listing members of the community involved in different community or religious organizations, including various school subcommittees and members of particular synagogues. There is a copy of the booklet titled: "The Jewish Community Law # 77 and the Jewish Community System #36 for the year 1931" and is printed in both Arabic and Judeo-Arabic. The laws were published in an Iraqi newspaper in 1931. This was published in Baghdad by the Jewish Charity Council and there are several copies of the laws in the collection.

This archival material includes: a letter from the lawyer of the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews to a judge regarding permission to rent an endowment property for 21 years; letters from women, students, and a man to the Jewish Administrative Committee and to Rabbi Sassoon Khedouri asking for charity and an increase in monthly allowance; a letter from a lawyer to Rabbi Khedouri to ask for help for a man who is losing his sight with a doctor's report to confirm it.

Correspondence from Rabbi Sassoon Khedouri: to the General Directorate of Import regarding Iraqi Jewish property taxes, the Jewish properties exempted from tax, hospitals, schools and orphanages; to the Chairman of the Property requesting a copy of plans and documents of properties belonging to the Jewish community; to the Director of Property Tax requesting a reduction or exemption of property tax for demolition or vacancy reasons.

The item also contains letters in Judeo-Arabic, many which include community members' names.

There are copies of a printed text titled “Appeal to Save the Children.” Letters include: the President of the Jewish Community to the Controller of Foodstuffs in Baghdad thanking the Controller for the allotment of sugar and tea for the students at the Rahel Shamoon School; addressing complaints at the Meir Elias Hospital in Baghdad; purchasing blankets for the poor via the Poor Welfare Society; sending money rather than clothes from an importer in New York City to the poor in Baghdad since clothing costs have gone up.
