Included are: marriage certificates from the President of the Jewish; birth certificates of a father and son; request for divorce and marriage certificates; receipts from the Jewish Lay Council; request from the President of the Jewish community to facilitate hiring teachers for Jewish schools; some certificates translated to English and Judeo-Arabic.

These are Judeo-Arabic wedding registries for the Baghdadi Jewish community from 1947-1949. Columns included are names of the bride and grooms, the amount of the ketubah (Jewish marriage contract), date, fees paid.

These are archival documents from the Shamash Secondary School. The majority are copies of the University of Cambridge Lower Certificate in English exam containing dictation passages, reading passages, translation from and into Arabic, and translation from and into French for 1954 and 1955. There are also copies of the composition and language section for 1952-1958 and 1966, and the prescribed books section for 1950, 1954-55, 1957, and 1966. There are Shamash Secondary School exams, fourth form, for algebra, 1969-1973; and general mathematics, 1965 and 1970. Handwritten mathematics notes and answer keys accompany the Shamash exams.

Some folders include admissions letters, letters of reference; correspondence with various government agencies relating to students, and doctor’s notes. One letterhead is from the Dunya Bureau for Films and Cinema. Another letter is to Forest Hills High School in Forest Hills, N.Y.

Some student folders contain an essay written in Hebrew about Israel and the Sephardic community, a certificate of vaccination for smallpox, confirmations of citizenship, and a military conscription letter.

These are documents from the Baghdadi Jewish Community. The majority of the documents relate to the Jewish Hospital in Baghdad but included are other correspondence within the community. It also includes a letter from a German Jewish Doctor from 1933 trying to move to Baghdad.

These are archival documents from the Frank Iny School and the Shamash Secondary School. Among the documents are letters of acceptance, lists of students who passed their examinations, correspondence regarding and exchange from a Japanese school, and correspondence from a Pakistani school.

These are student records from the Shamash Secondary and Frank Iny schools. Included in student files are: grades, transcripts, achievement reports, vaccines, warnings for misbehavior, recommendation letters, school transfer documents, graduation diplomas, and photographs. Also included are rosters for fifth grade students; correspondence between the head of Shamash and Frank Iny Schools to different institutions (Dental and Medical Schools in London, Chelsea College of Science and Technology in Edinburgh, University of London, Directorate of the Scholar Mission, and Directorate of Recruitment in Baghdad) regarding students’ academic matters.

There are printed copies of Al-Waqā’i‘ Al-‘Irāqiyah, the official government newspaper for publishing legislation, containing Law 5/1951 on monitoring and managing the assets of Jews who have abrogated their Iraqi citizenship; Law 12/1951, appendix to 5/1951; Law 64/1967, amendment to the appendix of 12/1951; Law 125/1967, amending the end of 12/1951; Law 1/1964, amending the instructions to 1/1963 on Iraqi Jews traveling outside of Iraq; Law 161/1963, amending the fourth regulation of 12/1951; Law 54/1962, amending 12/1951; Law 14/1963, cancelling 11/1960; Law 11/1960, amending 12/1951; and Law 1/1950, amending 62/1933. There are also court cases and correspondence from the President of the Baghdadi Jewish Community discussing loyalty of the Iraqi Jews.

These are archival documents from the Jewish schools in Baghdad. Included is a 1942 notebook by the Frank Iny School teacher, Bahija Ahmed Shhab, and correspondence between the Frank Iny School and Baghdad University confirming Shhab's appointment as a teacher. Other documents include: the administrative affairs and management of the Iraqi Jewish schools in Baghdad containing a booklet with a completed form of a teacher’s resume hired by the private Middle School for girls; a letter requesting the hire of a teacher addressed to the head of the Jewish Schools Committee in 1945; a letter to the head of the school requesting time off and sick leave days for teachers; a letter from the Frank Iny School to the University of Baghdad president in 1960 confirming that a teacher had worked at a middle school in 1946.

Included are: a letter sent from a tenant to the president of the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews regarding a dispute on a deposit amount for leased shops; a letter from the Administrative Committee for Iraqi Jews to a tenant regarding paying rent; a warning letter from the Directorate of the Department of Palestinians (part of Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs) to the governing body of Iraqi Jews regarding depositing money for a house lease at a Baghdad solicitor's office; letters of lease disputes from other tenants to a Baghdadi Jewish property management company regarding payments; a letter from the taxation office to estimate the amount of property tax belonging to the Baghdadi Jewish community.

Included are various correspondences: what students should bring to the Rabbinical College in Rhodes, Greece; verifications of birth certificates; letter and reply to the Jewish Lay Council from the Institute for the Blind to report its budget for 1934; letter from the Girls Sewing Charitable Society that lists its budget for 1934; letter from the head of Ozer Dalim Society to the President of the Jewish community regarding charity; 1933-1934 budget for Tomkhe Tora Society in Baghdad; letter from Chief Rabbi Benjamin Moshi; letter from the budget council of the Jewish Lay Council to all accountants in the Jewish community regarding decisions and instructions on budgets for 1934; letter from an accountant addressed to the head of the budget council regarding annual budget for 1934 - expenses, property tax, Jewish schools, wages for retired and needy people; spreadsheets containing expenses and revenues of the belongings of the Jewish community - hospitals, Morashi and education institutes; letter to a military figure asking for the release of six named war prisoners in 1919; letter from a legal codification department requesting deputy rabbi to look into a divorce subject to the rabbinical system in 1929; letters about a legal case of a woman claiming the right to collect her deceased husband's allowance, arguments stating she was divorced before he died; letter to the Lay Council concerning a house contract and a settlement; letter from the administration office of the Jewish community to a tenant regarding money for leasing a house; letter from the President of the Jewish community addressed to Iraqi government and Council of Ministers urging them to help distressed victims that were subjected to a catastrophic burglary and damage to their properties and shops, a total of 2731 families; letters to the Jewish Schools Committee regarding decreasing wages, transfers, retirements, sale of school belongings, requests interpretation of some amount to be reported, decrees and increases of allocated money; 1100 new students and their requirements from Jewish community funds; school debts and a copy of the annual budget; a teacher requests a teaching job in Almedrash School or any Jewish school in Baghdad appended by recommendation to the head of the Jewish Lay Council; request to make changes on class schedules and other educational arrangements. Correspondences from community members to the President of the Jewish Community regarding personal issues: help to finding relatives; dispute on a dowry issue; burials; a teacher requests a financial reward for 32 years of working in Midrash Talmud Torah, requests to continue to receive a retirement allowance of deceased husband; letter to Rabbi Sassoon Khedouri from a member of the Supreme Court requesting an additional salary for some extra work he does to help him financially; letter from workers requesting salary increases to the President of the Jewish Butchery; list of thirty names of needy and retired people whose allowances were decided upon by the Jewish Lay Council and approved by General Council. Also included are issues of the Iraqi Chronicle in 1973 on the nationalization of Exxon and Mobil Oil companies.

These are archival documents from the Society of Arts and Culture in Baghdad. They are ledgers of names with amounts paid/received and revenue stamps. The majority are from 1971-1972. The original title of the letterhead indicates this is for tracking lectures of the teachers of the organization but this has been crossed out and now indicates it is account or salary administration for the organization.

This is a personal notebook, possibly a ledger with financial information. Inserted are a few letters on stationary from Jacob H. Joseph Haim, Baghdad, M. A. Sasson in Calcutta (dated 1920), and Mrs. R. Belilios (dated 1920). An envelope found in the book is addressed to Mrs. L. D. Sasson.

The item also contains chemistry notes from the Frank Iny School from 1959-1960.
